The M&R system is a web-based software system through which individual schools must report energy and related data to SEAI each year to enable SEAI to track progress towards energy and climate policy targets.
The M&R software for schools comprises the following input screens that you use to input (report) your data. Click on the links below to view help for completing each screen.
- Home (Your 2023 report): this is the screen that appears when you login to the system. Use the ‘Home’ screen to review the status of your report, messages from SEAI and information on your submission.
- School details: use this screen to report and review contact and baseline details for your school.
- User management: use this screen to add, review, edit and delete users on the system.
- Lead contact & principal: use this screen to add or update details for your school's main contact for reporting data to SEAI, and for your principal.
- School size: use this screen to report details on the size of your school.
- Choose energy types: use this screen to select the energy types that your school uses or has used.
- Electricity meters: use this screen to add, review and update details for your electricity connection(s), or MPRN(s). This screen is only visible if you have chosen ‘MPRN electricity’ as an energy type.
- Validate your electricity meters: use this screen to validate MPRN(s) for specific years. This screen is only visible if you have chosen ‘MPRN electricity’ as an energy type and if you have answered 'no' to one of the questions on the ‘Electricity meters’ screen.
- Gas meters: use this screen to add, review and update details for your natural gas connection(s), or GPRN(s). This screen is only visible if you have chosen ‘GPRN natural gas’ as an energy type.
- Validate your gas meters: use this screen to validate GPRN(s) for specific years. This screen is only visible if you have chosen ‘GPRN natural gas’ as an energy type and if you have answered 'no' to one of the questions on the ‘Gas meters’ screen.
- Energy use: use this screen to report annual values for energy consumption. This screen is only visible if you have chosen specific energy types.
- Heating your school: use this screen to report whether your school uses electricity for heating.
- Energy management: use this screen to report details on your school's energy management practices.
- Energy projects: use this screen to report details of energy-saving projects that your school has implemented or plans to implement.
Bold green text in these help pages explain a simple summary for completing each screen if there are no material changes for your organisation since you last reported.
- The progress bar across the top the data input screens indicates which reporting tasks are complete and which ones are outstanding.
- Red indicates that a mandatory reporting task is not complete.
- Green indicates that you have provided the minimum data required to complete a reporting task.
- Blue indicates that you are currently working on a reporting task.
- You can navigate directly to most input screens by clicking on the progress bar.
- You can navigate directly to all input screens by using the side menu.
- You can navigate to the next input screen that has not been completed by clicking ‘Save & continue’ at the bottom of a screen. Note that the screen that appears next will depend on the reporting tasks that you have already completed.
- You can access the help page corresponding to each input screen by clicking the ‘?’ symbol at the top right of the screen.
