This help page describes the M&R data input screen for schools called ‘Heating your school’. Use this screen to report whether your school uses electricity for heating.
- This screen asks one question
- Depending on your answer to the question, it also shows a table of annual values.
- Use the 'All years' toggle above the table to view or edit data for all years back to the start of your energy efficiency baseline.
- This screen is visible to all users.
- If your school only uses oil or gas for heating, all you need to do is click ‘Yes’ and then ‘Save & continue’.
- Click ‘Yes’ if your school uses (or used) electricity for heating rooms. Otherwise, select ‘No’.
- If you answer ‘Yes’, complete the table for every year back to your energy efficiency baseline.
- For each year, either tick the box to indicate that your school was heated entirely by electricity in the year or enter the number of classrooms that were heated by electricity in the year.
- The vast majority of schools use heating oil or natural gas for all or part of their heating.
- Some schools top this up by heating some rooms using electricity, e.g. storage heaters, plug-in radiators etc.
- A small number of schools use electricity for all of their heating. These schools have no boilers.
- If you answer ‘No’, you must report annual values in the table for all years back to the start of your energy efficiency baseline. The baseline year is indicated in the text above the table.
