The M&R software will include detailed reports that enable public bodies to better understand and interpret energy and related data.
The following reports are available to M&R users. You must be logged in to the M&R system to see these reports.
These reports are viewable from the ‘Review performance’ screen, which can be accessed from the side menu in the M&R system. Additional reports will be added to the system throughout 2024.
SEAI also publishes an annual energy statement at the end of each year for every public body. This statement (report) is the same as the energy & GHG targets - key indicators report that is available to M&R users, except it is only updated once a year, around the same time that SEAI also publishes its annual report on energy performance in the public sector. The latest annual energy statements are available for all public bodies from SEAI's website (here).
- You can access the help page corresponding to each report by clicking the ‘?’ symbol at the top right of the screen.
- The 'display unit' dropdown enables you to select the units used to display energy (kWh, MWh or GWh) and CO2 emissions (kgCO2, tCO2 or ktCO2) data within the report. Your selection applies to all tables and charts within the same report.
- Several reports allow you to specify the period shown by entering years the first and last year in the ‘period' boxes next to the display unit.
- All reports contain a report ‘header’, which includes the name of your organisation and its PSO ID and which references the most recent year for which data is shown in the report. The header also indicates the status of your data for that year (see below).
- Some reports are subdivided into tabs, each of which contains one or more elements.
- Some tables are expandable/collapsible by clicking on the small + or - symbol on the left-hand side.
- Additional information and explanations appear if you hover your cursor over some text and results.
- Data point values appear on some charts if you hover your cursor over chart elements.
- Every report footer includes an 'M&R report reference' number, e.g. 'M&R report PSO-R24'. Please include this reference if you are contacting the helpdesk with a query relating to a specific report. Please also reference your PSO ID.
- Most reports can be downloaded (exported) as either PDF or Excel files using the green buttons at the top of the screen. Every report download includes all the data across all the tabs for all years in the relevant report.
- All reports are visible to all M&R users within your organisation.
- All reports are read-only. No M&R user can edit any data by interacting with a report.
The following is an explanation of the different data statuses (listed alphabetically) that can be displayed at the top of a report for a specific data year:
- ‘Final (data may be further refined in future years)’: the deadline for reporting data has passed, and sufficient data was reported to enable the system to calculate key results for the organisation. The data is final for the year and will form the basis for results published by SEAI for the organisation. The data for the year may be refined in future years.
- ‘Final, but data verification could not be completed’: the deadline for reporting data has passed, and sufficient data was reported to enable the system to calculate key results for the organisation. SEAI was unable to complete a data verification assessment (DVA) on the data, e.g. because insufficient information was provided to SEAI as part of the DVA process. The data is final for the year and will form the basis for results published by SEAI for the organisation. When publishing the results for the organisation, SEAI will indicate that the data has not been verified.
- ‘Final, but did not pass data verification (relatively minor discrepancy)’: the deadline for reporting data has passed, and sufficient data was reported to enable the system to calculate key results for the organisation. A data verification assessment (DVA) identified a relatively minor discrepancy with the data, which has been communicated to the organisation via a DVA report. The data is final for the year and will form the basis for results published by SEAI for the organisation. When publishing the results for the organisation, SEAI will indicate that the data will be further refined in future years.
- ‘Final, but did not pass data verification (relatively significant discrepancy)’: the deadline for reporting data has passed, and sufficient data was reported to enable the system to calculate key results for the organisation. A data verification assessment (DVA) identified a relatively significant discrepancy with the data, which has been communicated to the organisation via a DVA report. The data is final for the year and will form the basis for results published by SEAI for the organisation. When publishing the results for the organisation, SEAI will indicate that the data has not been verified.
- ‘Final, but some results lie beyond expected range & are subject to verification’: the deadline for reporting data has passed, and sufficient data was reported to enable the system to calculate key results for the organisation. However, some of the results lie beyond expected range of credible results. The data is final for the year and will form the basis for results published by SEAI for the organisation. When publishing the results for the organisation, SEAI will indicate that some of the results are subject to further verification.
- ‘Insufficient data provided for a complete report’: the deadline for reporting data has passed, but the organisation did not submit sufficient data for a complete report. As result, the system could not calculate performance results for the organisation. Any data shown in the report is incomplete.
- ‘No data reported’: the organisation did not report any data to SEAI for the year.
- ‘Organisation not expected to report for 20XX’: the organisation was not expected to report data to SEAI for the year, so no data is available. This may be because the organisation only came into existence during the year.
- ‘Provisional’: the organisation has begun reporting data to SEAI for the relevant year, and electricity and/or natural gas consumption data has been uploaded to the system by SEAI. The data shown in the report may or may not be complete, and may be subject to change.
- ‘Provisional - data verification ongoing’: the deadline for reporting data has passed and SEAI is undertaking data verification assessment (DVA) of the data. The data shown in the report may or may not be complete, and may be subject to change.
- ‘Reporting underway - additional inputs required to complete report’: the organisation has begun reporting data to SEAI for the relevant year, but additional data inputs are required before SEAI can calculate performance results for the organisation for the year. As a result, any data shown in the report is very likely to be incomplete.
- ‘Reporting underway - awaiting data from meter operator(s)’: the organisation has begun reporting data to SEAI for the relevant year, but SEAI has not yet received electricity and/or natural gas consumption data from the meter operator(s) for the relevant year. As a result, any data shown in the report is very likely to be incomplete.
