This help page describes the M&R data input screen for public bodies called ‘Energy spend'. Use this screen to optionally report your expenditure on different energy types.
- This screen displays a single table listing all the energy types used by your organisation.
- Use the 'All years' toggle above the table to view or edit data for all years back to 2020.
- This screen is visible to all users.
- Reporting energy spend data is optional. If you do not wish to report this data, click ‘Save & continue’.
- To report annual expenditure on an energy type, first select the basis on which you wish to do so using the dropdown menu in the third column. You can choose between reporting the total annual expenditure ('Energy spend') or an average unit price ('Average unit price'). For some energy types, you can also choose to use an SEAI-defined average unit price.
- If you select ‘Energy spend’ enter the total amount spent on the energy type in the year in the ‘202X spend’ column.
- If you select 'Average unit price' enter the unit price paid in the year in the ‘202X unit price’ column. Note the units shown in the second column.
- You must report average unit prices in the units indicated. These are the units in which the different energy types are most frequently sold, recorded and counted.
- If you enter a total spend value for an energy type, the system calculates an average unit price for that energy type for that year using the consumption value reported by you.
- If you enter an average unit price for an energy type, the system calculates the total spend for that energy type for that year using the consumption value reported by you.
- SEAI-defined average unit prices are not available for all energy types and they may not be representative of the actual energy prices paid by your organisation. These prices are inclusive of VAT.
- Use input screen choose energy types to select the energy types that your organisation uses or has used.
